Criminal Record Bureau
(CRB) Disclosures
CV Check have been registered with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)
as an Umbrella Body since its introduction in 2002. We therefore
act as an intermediary between the CRB and the employing organisation.
There are two levels of CRB check currently available.
Standard Disclosure
Standard checks are for people entering certain occupations and
professions as specified in the Exceptions Order to the Rehabilitation
of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Standard Disclosures show current and
spent convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held on the
Police National Computer.
Enhanced Disclosure
Enhanced checks are for posts involving work in a regulated activity
for a regulated activity provider with children or vulnerable adults.
In general, the type of work will involve regularly caring for,
supervising, training or being in sole charge of such people. Enhanced
checks are also issued for certain statutory purposes such as gaming
and lottery licensing.
Enhanced checks contain the same information as Standard checks
but with the addition of a check of the new barred lists and any
locally held police force information considered relevant to the
job role, by Chief Police Officer(s).
