Criminal Record Checks / Online Disclosures

A Criminal Record Disclosure contains impartial and confidential criminal history information held by the police and government departments. This information can be used by employers to make safer recruitment decisions.

There are three levels of UK Criminal Record Disclosure and all are available ONLINE via CV Check. Our fees for Online Disclosure start from £47 including service charge and VAT

Basic Disclosure

Basic Disclosures are for any purpose, including employment. The certificate will contain details of convictions and conditional cautions that are considered unspent under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974

Standard DBS Check

Standard DBS Checks are for people entering certain occupations and professions, such as members of the legal and accountancy professions. Standard checks contain the following:

Convictions, Cautions, Reprimands and Warnings held in England and Wales on the Police National Computer, relevant convictions in Scotland and Northern Ireland may also be included.

Enhanced DBS Check

Enhanced DBS Checks are for posts involving work in a regulated activity for a regulated activity provider with children or vulnerable adults.  In general, the type of work will involve regularly caring for, supervising, training or being in sole charge of such people. Examples include a Teacher, Care Worker, Scout or Guide leader. Enhanced checks are also issued for certain statutory purposes such as gaming and lottery licences.

Enhanced DBS Checks contain the same information as Standard DBS Checks but with the addition of a check of the DBS Barred Lists (where eligible) and may also contain non-conviction information supplied by relevant police forces, if it is deemed relevant to the role.
